Sarah leaves her troubled life in America to teach biology in rural Malaysia but struggles to adapt. Her life takes a terrifying turn when she starts vomiting dirt, earthworms, and roots, and vines and flowers begin growing from her body. She learns she’s cursed by an ancient legend, "The Curse of the Twelve Sisters of Santhumala," and is drawn into an enchanted forest. Desperate for a cure, she follows the vines growing from her body and discovers a mystical, trapped creature. When she submits to it, she’s swallowed by the earth and reborn. The story ends ambiguously—has she been cured, or is this a new beginning?
